Big Y DNA test needed from certain clans

@BluSkee ordered Yseq j1 full panel kit for him. The Sexawle guy was confirmed J1-P56 and under this branch.

Yea, I remember but it’d be interesting to get a Yfull and see which Arab clans he’s close to. The more Yfull’s done for J1 Somalis the more we can understand and get a fuller picture of the interaction between Somalis and Arabs.

The only other Somali I seen with J1-P56 is a Reer Aw Xasan guy in the Eritrean FTDNA group. I was also speaking to a Bakri Saudi who said he was in contact with a Sheekhaal who was also P56, but lost contact with him. The Bakri (lays claim to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr) himself is P56.

Shaykh Hasan “Kawayni” is the progenitor of Reer Aw Xasan.

I was just reading on some of the Somali tested samples in my immediate vicinity. I was surprised to discover that there is only one Ajuuran sample, which happens to be near my ydna tree. I also thought Ajuuran are either Hawiye or Darod, but they appear to be separate. While we share ancestry over 3000 years ago before Oromos and Somalis separated, could this brother be an Oromo assimilated to Gareen during Gaal Madow wars? But Gareen appears to be the house of the ruling class. Is it possible for an assimilated non-Somali joining the ruling house? (assuming the person is indeed from Gareen house). Also note that the Gareen brother shares the same subclade with the Borena sample from Kenya. I am equally curious about the circumstances in which the other clans (Garre and Horarsame) appear to be close.

That person isn’t Garre

You are right. Ajuraan are pure Hawiye from the line of Jambeele Hawiye. Many of the Ajuraan today live amongst the Borana in Kenya hence the Gareen individual matching Borana. It’s obvious he is Oromo assimilated into the Gareen family. Same thing with the Garre who live with the Borana in Ethiopia and Kenya. These are all peripheral clans that share borders with Oromo. Hawrarsame is a perfect example of Gaal Madow wars. They got absorbed by the Darood who were pushing south.

Yeah maybe that Hawraesame individual, but I 100% believe Hawrarsame are Darood. They even have their own settlement in Nugaal, near Garowe. To be honest with you I don't believe the Ajuran empire was just Hawiye Somali, I heard Hawiye defeated the Ajuran, I wouldn't be surprised if Ajuran were majority Oromo, as Oromo had heavy presence in the souh.

Ajuran are Hawiye. This is them celebrating few weeks back their yearly celebrations. Listen to their elders.

Amin Ajurani and the host both explain the history was so powerful it became more mystical over time which creates confusion. The Ajuran Hawiye lineage is consistent while others cant agree and say wa maqare samaale, ama wa xarmale samaale, ama wa gardheere samaale, ama wa persian, ama wa carab etc. Whats correct in a debate is whats more consistent. Ajuran are Hawiye but could have some foreign implant in them, groups joined their clans that connected them with the outside world but simultaneously ended their empire from within (iskudir). Amin goes further and says most real Ajuran are still living amongst other clans in the mainland, alot of public Ajuran folks now are recent immigrants from kenyan clans like Boran and Gabra.

Could be. This is just one sample. We cannot generalise based on one sample.

Thanks. I have read that they have some form of affinity with Hawiye although the ended up being pushed out by a subclan of Hawiye.

Asc guys! I hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone come across any DNA testing of the Somali clan Abajibil? A brother asked me but I haven’t seen any. Thought to ask you all!
