Somali Y Haplogroups

@Malawax Congrats brother for joining Somali Project, i just checked your STRs. They are very close. even you two
have the same CDY 31-35 plus the last two 13-11 (all E-18629 have 12-11 except E-Y163949)

Looks like you two will create a new unique Sub-clade o fE Y18629.

Thanks for checking brother. Hopefully @BluSkee will be able to convince him to do Big Y, before I am forced to use my “ina-adeer” card.

My mother tried to convince him but he doesn’t understand the point yet. He is pretty new to this whole thing. We will keep trying for sure.

Have you tried emailing him? I feel like if you reach out he may change his mind. We have his direct contact too if it comes to that.

I found his contact information. I will ask him to upgrade.

@Koombe. Although it's still early to speculate, there's a possibility that a new parent branch could emerge, potentially uniting E-Y163928 with another branch. I'm considering this because your earlier comments suggest that my STR results are closer to the samples under E-Y163928.

Thanks for sharing. Speaking of that branch, I just meet the Somali brother under CTS7146/Z820 at a dinner event randomly in Addis.

That is very cool. I hope you're enjoying your time in Addis.

@Malawax I see your ftdna sample is at Y111, when do you expect your full results?

I believe it will be ready within the next couple of weeks. Although they're estimating a processing time of 7 to 11 weeks, I think it will likely be closer to 6 weeks.

FYI: Sample YF129443 under T-FGC92488* had Dir without subclan before, he is Dir > Gadabuursi > Xeebjire.

We have a new sample under E-Y227096. Are Tuur Yar part of Daarood > Majeerteen?
YFull Somali Sample
From what I know Tuur Yar are Dhulbahante and/or Yiber depending on location. Not sure of much more.

How are you able to see the tribes on yfull like that in your screenshot? Does that happen on computers only or is it something in settings?

The first time i saw Tuuryar Clan was on Dhulbahante/Facebook page and the Clan is said to be the second
eldest Saciid Harti (Dhulbahante) by the name (Axmed Saciid Harti) next to the eldest Dhulbahante Clan Hayaag
(Huseen saciid Harti)

It is a browser extension I developed for personal use, with no plans to publish. In its current form, it requires manual updates whenever a new Somali sample is added to YFull and it only works on Edge and Chrome PC browsers.

That’s great and really helpful when looking at the tree. I saw a while back another person shared something similar.

And I will update the Tuur Yar with Dhulbahante after I run it through the sample taker insha Allah.
