Have you ever balled with somalis at the court and realise that their formation is kinda messed. I will tell you why:
1. Big man acts likes a small man:
I have won in several games by being in the paint. Stick to your natural position at all times, I played normally as a forward center. A good recommendation to know if your a good center is of your giving trouble to players to post up on you.
2. SWITCH Properly!
How will you switch if your going to leave your player unmarked. Switch only if your exhausted, changing position to screen or having trouble guarding a player. I have seen many games fail due to stupid unnecessary switches. I have seen a kid trying to switch and left a player unmarked, they couldn't steal the ball and the unmarked player managed to end the game with a shot.
SO SWITCH when necessary.
3. Grab them Rebounds quick:
Trust me if you are on post you must grab those rebounds, defense or offense you gotta get that ball. A good time to go for the rebounds is jump slightly before the ball touches the backboard or the rim make sure your arms are up high. In somali basketball the tallest guy is never at the post line for some odd reason. So it is easier for someone who is slightly taller to get that rebound to either do a layup or secure the check.
4. If you can't shoot don't shot just pass it
(very self explanatory, either pass, lay it up or dunk if your able too.)
